Keychain Obsession

Hello, my name is Rhyah and I am an addict...to keychains, that is! It seems that I have developed a weird obsession with anything that can be attached to my keys or bag lately to make carrying things more convenient.

I jumped on the key fob band wagon a while back to make it easier to keep my keys accessible while carrying my toddler, her diaper bag, my wallet and anything else that might join us on our daily journeys. Then, since I have yet to design a handbag for myself, thus carrying my wallet in hand, I designed a card wallet that could be attached to my keys.

Now, with the recent swine flu scares, I decided that when I leave my house I need to be armed with hand sanitizer. What better way to keep it within reach than attaching to to a swivel hook so, yep, you guessed it, it can be attached to my keys (or bag whenever I get around to designing one.)

I think I may have a problem, and though attaching one more thing to my key ring is tempting, I think this one will hang from my bag (again, once I get around to making one) so I don't look quite so obsessed when I go out!

Give-Away Day!

I'm so excited that it's finally here! I didn't get a chance to submit one of my creations for the give-away in December, but did enter in a few of them and was lucky enough to be a winner! This time around I'm so excited to be offering a few of the items that I will be selling in my new Etsy shop later this month - check back for a big grand opening sale!

Without further ado, up for grabs is this super cute matching set including a coffee cozy, key fob and card wallet. These are some of my favorite things to make, made with one of my favorite fabrics from Heather Bailey's Pop Garden collection. The key fob will help keep your hands free but your keys close and the card wallet is wonderful for traveling lite with just a few credit cards and IDs or keeping business cards handy. If you're a coffee lover, you will love the coffee cozy as a cute, eco-friendly alternative to the cardboard ones that coffee shops use. What's more is that it's completely reversible so you get two looks in one!

To enter the give-away, simply become a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post telling me what accessory you simply can't leave the house without. The giveaway will end on May 31st and I will announce the winner the following day. Please be sure to include an email address so I can contact you if you win! Best of luck to all of you, and thank you so much for looking!

**Please note, this give-away is open to Continental US residents only.

Lilac Scented Craft Space

I just love being able to open the windows and smell the fresh spring air while I'm sewing, but what I love even more is lilac infused spring air!

The weather is gorgeous here today and since I''ll be spending most of my day sewing diapers for the little man, I thought I'd bring my two favorite smells together. So, I snipped a few branches this morning and stuck them in a cute little plastic wine glass. Voila! I never imagined sewing could be even more enjoyable! Hoping your able to surround yourself with things you love today!

Finished Toy Hammock

You may remember me posting a tutorial for a crocheted toy hammock here a while back. After procrastinating working diligently for weeks, I finally have it finished, hung and filled in my daughter's room.

It took much longer than I had imagined and is much stretchier than I thought, thus hanging lower than planned, but a few minor tweeks took care of that. I simply used some of the double crochet holes to hang it instead of the loops at the corners to tighten it up a bit and voila! It works perfectly and looks awfully cute in my humble opinion.

Now that her plushies have a new home, I can clear off the rest of the changing table and move it into the new baby's room! Finally some progress! Now we just need to settle on a name for the little guy (I think hubby may be getting close to letting us name him Nevin,) make crib bedding, a new boppy cover, nursing cover, diapers, etc. and we'll be ready for him to make his arrival!
