Treasure Hunt

I'm finally starting to get back into the swing of things after my son was born. I never thought such a little person could change our world so much, but our entire world has been turned upside down. With toddler tantrums, increased laundry responsibilities, nursing not one, but two children (sometimes at the same time), diaper changes and everything else that comes with having a new baby I haven't had much time to sew lately.

Fortunately though, we're adjusting nicely and are finally finding our rhythm. That can only mean that I've finally started to find time in my busy days to get some sewing done. Yipppeee! So, to celebrate (actually, I just needed an excuse), I decided to have a treasure hunt.

So, here's the deal, all you have to do is go to my shop and find the listing with this picture in it

Once you find the listing with the treasure chest, email me the link at DarningDiva[at]gmail[dot]com with subject line "treasure hunt." I'll randomly choose two winners on August 27th with a grand prize of a $15 gift certificate to my shop and a first prize of a key fob of the winners choice. Well, what are you waiting for? Go hunt!

Give-Away Day!

I'm so excited that it's finally here! I didn't get a chance to submit one of my creations for the give-away in December, but did enter in a few of them and was lucky enough to be a winner! This time around I'm so excited to be offering a few of the items that I will be selling in my new Etsy shop later this month - check back for a big grand opening sale!

Without further ado, up for grabs is this super cute matching set including a coffee cozy, key fob and card wallet. These are some of my favorite things to make, made with one of my favorite fabrics from Heather Bailey's Pop Garden collection. The key fob will help keep your hands free but your keys close and the card wallet is wonderful for traveling lite with just a few credit cards and IDs or keeping business cards handy. If you're a coffee lover, you will love the coffee cozy as a cute, eco-friendly alternative to the cardboard ones that coffee shops use. What's more is that it's completely reversible so you get two looks in one!

To enter the give-away, simply become a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post telling me what accessory you simply can't leave the house without. The giveaway will end on May 31st and I will announce the winner the following day. Please be sure to include an email address so I can contact you if you win! Best of luck to all of you, and thank you so much for looking!

**Please note, this give-away is open to Continental US residents only.

Wallet Giveaway!

A few weeks ago I mentioned possibly offering a giveaway for a prototype cosmetic pouch that was slightly less than perfect. After thinking long and hard about it, I decided to offer one of my tri-fold wallets instead. This wallet is the first off the sewing machine after finalizing my design. I'm so in love with this design and fabric combo and am so excited to offer it to one of my lucky readers!

So, here's the low down: to enter the giveaway either subscribe to or follow my blog and leave me a comment letting me know that you did so. Also in your comment tell me your favorite name for a baby boy (yep, hubby and I are still in disagreement on our little man's name!) All entries must be submitted by midnight CST on Sunday - be sure to leave an email address where I can reach you. I will announce the winner on Monday morning. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only.

What to do?

As I try out product ideas for my new shop, I'm often left with slightly less than perfect, but completely functional items as I tweak the design. Sometimes I take the less than perfect items and keep them for myself, but when I am left with more than one that didn't make the cut I wonder what to do with them?

For instance, today I made a cosmetic bag that is near perfect except for slightly off centered tabs on the zipper and a minor flaw in the fabric. I've already kept the first prototype for myself, and am left with one that needs a home. Some etsy sellers have sales to clear out prototypes and less than perfect items, but I was thinking it might be nice to offer it as a giveaway to thank all of you for being such a fantastic audience.

So my question for you, my dear readers is, would you be interested in a giveaway like this, or should I find another use for it around my house? I would love to hear what you think. If I get enough positive feedback I will take some pictures so you can see exactly what the issues are and open it up for a giveaway.
